  • Overview

    The Associate Director will be responsible for leading a team of Strategic Account Managers in achieving their sales goals.  This individual will be responsible for their team’s incremental growth over baseline and utilization of hereditary cancer diagnostic  tests and prenatal screening tests for all Myriad products sold to OBGYN, MFM, Breast Imaging, Surgery, Oncology, Primary Care, & Gastroenterology markets within large accounts, hospitals, and practices.  The  Associate Director will identify, recruit, hire and retain Strategic Account Managers to execute on core business needs.  They will play an active role in coaching consultative selling and project management while leading internal team members on the strategic pull-through initiatives.    The Associate Director will support the business efforts of the Women’s Health and Oncology Business Units.

    Responsibilities

    • Coach Strategic Account Managers (SAMs) to exceed revenue goals within targeted accounts
    • Hire, train, develop, and coach SAMs in account management and peer leadership
    • Ownership of individual SAM team development, training, and core initiatives
    • Organizational leadership and influence within the Hereditary Cancer Business Units (Oncology and Preventive Care) aligning strategies and tactics for large accounts and integrated customer groups
    • Demonstrate knowledge and coach:
      • Account Management, C-Suite Selling, Project Management, Quality Improvement (PDCA, Lean, Six Sigma), Billing and Coding, Health Care Delivery Systems, Liability & Patient Safety
    • Travel – 80% overnight travel

     

    The Associate Director will need to identify, attract, hire and retain the best Strategic Account Manager candidates possible, with characteristics and skills that fit well within the Myriad culture. The Director will provide vision, strategy, motivation, and tactical/marketing direction to ensure their team achieves/exceeds sales goals and other stipulated corporate objectives. They will provide market insight and help in developing brand strategies and sales team policy and support programs within the Oncology and Preventiv Care Business Unit.

     

     

    Qualifications

    • B.S. degree required, MBA preferred along with Six Sigma or Lean Healthcare Certifications.
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical, device sales or healthcare, including significant management experience in field sales with demonstrated high performance as measured by meeting/exceeding revenue objectives
    • Individuals to be considered for this position should have strong strategic thinking skills, extensive knowledge of healthcare delivery systems, ability to network, and a proven track record of success in sales demonstrated examples of leadership or management, preferably in the Women's Health, Oncology, or molecular diagnostics markets.
    • Proven ability to produce strong results in challenging markets
    • Proven ability to create a vision and lead a team to realize the vision; experience in management/leading a team is required
    • Demonstrated leadership, financial/budget management, and communications skills 
    • Proven ability to select, develop and promote talented individuals
    • Thorough understanding of customer segments and market dynamics
    • Ability to lead and manage local field sales leaders and to develop staff through coaching and mentoring
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
    • Ability to clearly communicate complex messages to all levels of the organization (organizational agility)
    • Public speaking ability and facilitation required
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Demonstrated team player and ability to execute

     

     

          Preferred Skills: 

    • Previous experience as a Strategic, Account
    • Lean/Six Sigma certification/training, previous experience in Account Management
    • Sales and/or leadership experience in women’s health, oncology and/or cancer genetics and/or molecular diagnostics
    • Experience building teams and multiple product launches
