    Job Title: Director, New Product Development  

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for strategic marketing, market development activities, and product lifecycle development for high-value molecular diagnostic products from discovery stage to commercialization within the Emerging Products Business Unit.
    • Provide commercial leadership, manage program priorities, drive commercial strategy, and execute on product and business priorities as established by the Research & Development Leadership Team and Product Lifecycle Management teams by leveraging previous knowledge of Oncology, Women’s health, and/or Neuroscience.
    • Formulate and execute marketing plans for new investigational molecular diagnostic products.
    • Perform strategic planning, create and implement pre-commercial development plans and tactics for new investigational molecular diagnostic products by applying understanding of the molecular diagnostic market and regulatory environment.
    • Serve as product marketing lead for new investigational assets in multi-functional teams by using strong interpersonal, quantitative analysis, communication, influence management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Participate in decisions relative to the technology and product portfolio, as requested by the Emerging Products EVP.
    • Present summary of progress on key programs and milestones related to new product development for the Business Unit.
    • Conduct technology and competitive intelligence assessments for new product candidates.
    • Work with healthcare professionals and sales professionals to identify customer needs, market preferences and perceptions for new product candidates.
    • Integrate technology, competitive intelligence assessments, market preferences and perceptions, and customer requirements to develop target product profiles for new product candidates.
    • Maintain relationships with advisors and external thought leaders using external thought leader relationship development.
    • Collaborate with clinical and Research & Development teams to develop clinical and technical development plans that ensure clear product differentiation, clinical claims and alignment with brand strategy for new individual investigational assets and existing products.
    • Develop payer strategies within molecular diagnostic regulatory and reimbursement environment that will maximize reimbursement of new products upon launch.  
    • Evaluate market demographics and psychographics to discern buying trends, habits and preferences per market segment to confirm target markets for new products or services
    • Facilitate development of brand forecasts and strategic long-range planning.
    • Manage external vendors.

    Qualifications

    Special Requirements:

     

    • 2 years of experience as a Product Manager for diagnostic products.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in formulating and executing marketing plans for molecular diagnostic products.
    • Demonstrable knowledge and prior experience with molecular diagnostic regulatory and reimbursement environment.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in strategic planning, external thought leader relationship development, tactical execution of strategic marketing plans, and vendor management.
    • Ability to analyze market demographic and psychographic data.
    • Demonstrable strong interpersonal, quantitative analysis, communication, influence management, and problem-solving skills.
    • Prior experience working with healthcare professionals and sales professionals  
    • Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in molecular diagnostic product development and launch.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of Oncology, Women’s health, and/or Neuroscience.   

    Education Required: Master of Science in Genetics or closely related degree.

    Experience Required:  None

    Travel Requirements: Travel domestically up to two times a month for up to five days per trip.

    Work Hours:  8:00 am. – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
