    The Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist is a disciplined, meticulous, and self-motivated individual with great communication skills and the expertise required to process samples in a high complexity molecular diagnostics laboratory. As a Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist, you will be responsible for mastering the effective use of automated instrumentation and manual workflows/processes to generate assay results in a next generation sequencing clinical laboratory setting. In this role, you will be expected to apply your technical skills towards processing biological samples on a day to day basis in a very dynamic and high throughput laboratory.


    The Senior Clinical Laboratory Scientist will demonstrate a high level of individual responsibility and accountability and possess the ability to perform to the requirements listed below. The ideal candidate for this role will play a key part in maintaining high clinical lab performance standards on a daily basis, bolstering Myriad Women’s Health’s ability to  continue delivering high quality results to our patients in a timely manner.


    • Perform high complexity testing under the minimal supervision of a general supervisor
    • Interact and communicate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient work flow
    • Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies and document all quality control activities
    • Follow the laboratory’s established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s acceptable levels of performance
    • Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and immediately notify the general supervisor, technical supervisor, or director
    • Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications
    • Assist the Technical Supervisor in method verification studies and validation of Laboratory Developed Tests
    • Participate in the continuous quality improvement process


    • A current California state Clinical Laboratory Scientist license to perform laboratory testing is required
    • Required experience:
      • At least six years of clinical laboratory experience as a licensed personnel
      • At least four years of clinical laboratory experience if candidate holds a Master’s degree,
      • At least one year of clinical laboratory experience as a licensed personnel if candidate holds a PhD
    • A BS/BA degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences from an accredited college or university preferred
    • Experience in a molecular lab preferred
    • CGMBS preferred
    • You are well versed in at least two of the following areas, while possessing the ability to rapidly become competent in all of the others:
      • Next generation sequencing
      • Molecular biology
      • DNA extraction
      • PCR technology
      • Nice to have - In depth training and experience with good laboratory practices
    • Experience in CLIA regulated clinical labs / Biotech start-up/fast growth company or similar working environment will be very helpful
    • Advanced degrees will be favored
