Myriad Genetics is looking for one (1) qualified individual to fill the role of Medical Science Liaison for breast cancer. The successful candidate will join Myriad’s Medical Service team and will report to the Oncology Medical Affairs Director.
Territory: This is a national position. Candidates must be able to travel on a regular basis.
The MSL, Breast cancer, will play a key role in multiple cross-divisional projects that further the commercial impact of Myriad’s portfolio of breast cancer products. The MSL liaises internally, by supporting initiatives that span clinical, marketing, and managed care functions, as well as externally, by fostering relationships with key opinion leaders that inform our business and increase awareness of our products. Importantly, the MSL must be able to make substantive contributions to the further clinical development of Myriad’s assays. This aspect of the job requires an understanding of clinical trial design, basic statistics, and a penchant for analysis. It also requires an ability to maintain productive relationships with collaborators, often KOL’s. In addition to these responsibilities, the MSL supports field based sales and medical affairs remotely and in person. Frequent travel is necessary to provide physician education and participate in major society meetings.
Assay clinical development:
Will require frequent travel (3-4 days per week, occasional weekends for conferences / meetings).
Functions as resource and active participant for breast cancer products
Collaborates with Marketing and Professional Support team on development and review of marketing materials, slide sets and other collateral, collecting feedback from the medical team.
Collaborates with Marketing on speaker trainings, regional advisory boards and ongoing sales material.
Collaborates with Clinical Affairs to disseminate results of development expanding indications for breast cancer products.
Meets minimum education and experience requirements:
Advanced degree (PhD in biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology or genetic counselor or nurse with experience in breast cancer.) Preference for candidates with existing relationships with thought leading breast oncologists and surgeons.
A minimum of three years post-graduate clinical or research experience
Deep understanding of breast prognostics and companion diagnostics.
Experience with research protocols.
Experience facilitating research projects as well as communicating research results to a variety of audiences.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Previous experience in Medical Affairs role is ideal.
