    Our Myriad Genetics Product Engineering team in Salt Lake City is roughly 60 members strong and strives to follow the principles of Agile in cross-functional teams composed of both front and back-end engineers, automation testing, UX, and product owners. Our Digital Team has the opportunity to be both the first and last to provide a spectacular experience for our customers.  They build the tools for screening, ordering, interfacing, and delivery of our final product. Our teams have the chance to directly benefit the lives of thousands of patients a week through great software.

     

    A Digital Team Manager at Myriad Genetics is about collaborating with our Software Developers and Marketing team to build outstanding digital experiences for our customers.  The Digital team builds web-based screening tools that help patients and provider learn about our products and the value they can receive by testing with Myriad.


    As an experienced Engineering Manager, you’ll lead, develop, and grow a team of engineers to create software that’s revolutionizing the clinical lab and modernizing the patient/clinic experience. We are seeking a highly technical, experienced, and motivated manager who is passionate about using software to reshape healthcare.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Provide technical leadership -- articulate high-level technical strategy and product vision, encourage technical discussions, promote cross-functional projects, and facilitate code reviews to drive the shipping of quality code into production
    • Grow your team -- work with recruiting to source, hire, and onboard talented and passionate engineers
    • Lead performance reviews and career development for new and existing engineers
    • Create and launch product/platform initiatives from conception to deployment using modern open source technologies.

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Significant experience managing teams of software engineers (e.g. 3+ years technical management with 5+ years hands-on technical experience)
    • A leader who can motivate technical teams to design, test, and ship maintainable code within a fast-paced, collaborative production environment
    • Skilled in software engineering, full-stack development, and fluency with Java, Tomcat, Oracle, Git, Jenkins, Atlassian Suite, Vue, Angular JS, AWS
    • You LOVE guiding and mentoring engineers along their career path -- whether they are a seasoned veteran or a recent college graduate
    • A science or genomics background is NOT required - solving these problems requires a fundamental understanding of CS, practical software engineering skills, and the ability to work/manage others in a fast-paced production environment
