  • Overview

    Preparation of sample aliquots; retrieving samples for testing as directed by work schedule; performing inventories and orders for laboratory and office supplies; performing clerical duties that do not involve interpretation or judgment; receiving and accessioning samples into the CLIMS; and assisting CLS' with various lab duties (temperature monitoring, CLIMS sample batching, preparation of buffers), reporting issues to management. 

     

    **This is a Temporary position up to 6 months or longer**

    ** Shift: Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30AM – 5:00PM**

    Responsibilities

    Under the supervision of a Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Clinical Laboratory Assistants will be responsible for:

    • Receiving and accessioning samples
    • Preparation of sample aliquots and automated dilutions
    • Retrieving samples for testing
    • Performing inventories and orders for laboratory and office supplies
    • Performing clerical duties
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

      • High School diploma or equivalent
      • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
      • Minimum of 2 years clinical laboratory experience preferred, including but not limited to customer service, specimen processing, and laboratory assisting in a hospital or reference laboratory setting

      Skills

      • Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, such as word processing, data analysis and laboratory information systems
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
      • Strong understanding of good laboratory practices and regulatory compliance
      • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
