  • Overview

    Responsible for all quality activities related to vendors and suppliers of materials, products, or services used for manufacturing purposes, to support operations or compliance activities at Myriad Genetic Laboratories, and for ensuring Myriad's quality requirements for such items are clearly communicated to the supplier. This position will participate in developing and evaluating supplier quality policies, procedures and contracts.

    Responsibilities

    Support efforts for all sustaining supplier quality control activities, including new supplier selection, evaluation, supplier performance, supplier contract management and non-conforming material management.

     

    Participate with Operations, Diagnostic Development, Quality Assurance and Compliance in developing classifications of products in the Oracle Purchasing System to ensure suppliers and associated products are evaluated based on risk management activities in order to determine critical and non-critical reagents and consumables.

     

    Participate with Operations, Diagnostic Developement, Quality Systems and Quality/Compliance to establish and maintain receiving acceptance activities, including specification requirements.

    Assist in the development and reporting of supplier quality metrics

    Coordinate, initiate and drive supplier Corrective Action Requests where applicable

    Ensure timely closure of supplier nonconformance and CAPA findings

    Additional purchasing activities as  required or assigned

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in engineering, science or related field, or minimum of 5+ years experience in engineering, manufacturing, procurement, or quality functions with demonstrated technical aptitude.

     

    Minimum 3-5 years experience in supplier quality in an FDA medical device regulated environment, preferably with a minimum 5 years working with reagents as raw materials.

     

    Thorough understanding of FDA's Quality System Regulation ( 21 CFR 820 ).

    Working knowledge of Purchasing, inventory control and materials management practices and processses.

     

    Experiance in the development and implementation of a supplier quality program is highly prefered.

     

    Ability to work independently and on projects with a team and filling various rolls such as team member, facilitor or leader.

     

    Ability to efficiently use computer programs necessary to complete wotk requirements ( Oracle, MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint ).
