  • Overview

    The Customer Service Reimbursement Representative position will be responsible for handling incoming calls and contacting healthcare providers, patients, insurance companies, and field staff to obtain accurate and complete billing information. Additional duties consist of managing sample(s)volume to ensure reporting and billing submission is completed in a timely manner. The Customer Service Reimbursement Representative will need to demonstrate the ability to multi-task, problem solve, and prioritize tasks as well as establishing best practices and teamwork. Other responsibilities will include working with internal and external peers, group projects, trainings, and assisting the billing team as needed.


    • Initiate contact and provide follow-up with customers and field representatives in an effort to obtain accurate billing information
    • Work independently with general instructions on moderately complex assignments with minimum supervision
    • Identify, communicate and respond to reported problems or complaints in a timely fashion
    • Ability to enter patient, clinical, and insurance data into various systems while maintaining the accuracy of the data
    • Investigate patient’s insurance benefits and actively identify network and payer plans
    • Establish standards in classifying product coverage for patients in accordance with documents and progress note
    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
    • Create templates and reference guides for internal and external customers
    • Monitor and process internal assistance program
    • Other duties as assigned


    • 2-3 years’ experience in medical billing or customer service in a healthcare setting required
    • Excellent interpersonal and phone etiquette mandatory
    • Excellent organization, communication, follow-through and multitasking skills
    • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
    • Accurate typing skills of at least 35 words per minute
    • Comprehensive understanding and use of Word, Excel and Outlook helpful
    • Familiarity with payer billing plans preferred
    • Able to manage several tasks simultaneously, often under pressure
    • Knowledge of clinical lab systems and/or billing systems helpful
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
    • Strong, recent professional references
