Myriad RBM is looking to fill a Laboratory Technician (Sample Receiving) in our Austin, Texas facility. 


The goal for this position is to ensure that all samples collected, received, and/or shipped are maintained, tracked, and managed to ensure complete traceablility and accountability in an organized and expedient manner.  The incumbent initiates, and develops processes expected to result in partial or complete project fulfillment related to products or needed information.


Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM




  • Receiving, handling, and shipping of sensitive biological samples.
  • Data entry to maintain up-to-date and accurate data for all samples.
  • Assist in locating samples as necessary.
  • Reconciliation of sample inventory documentation.
  • Interfacing with customers as necessary regarding sample issues.
  • Various special projects as needed.
  • Pursue a personal development program aimed at improving skills and knowledge to increase effectiveness.
  • Interact and cooperate with other departments throughout the corporation in a professional manner to be aware of scientific activities of pertinence to the department and company.


  • College educated; 4 year degree in a scientific discipline preferred.  If non-degreed, more than 3 years of relevant work experience of increasingly complex nature.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work well independently and in a team situation.
  • Knowledge of GLP & GMP regulations preferred.
