The Leave Administrator is responsible for handling all employee leave cases, ADA, Workers Compensation and Safety complaints. In addition, this position will be responsible for our ACA government mandated filing. 


  1. Will handle all aspects of leave of absence administration including Short-term Disability, FMLA, State Disability Leave, Workers' Comp, Long-term Disability and Military Leave.
  2. Partner with supervisors and managers on escalated leave issues/concerns and assist in development of action plans to address these issues/concerns.
  3. Consult with supervisors and managers regarding proper communication and coding of time when an employee is on a leave of absence.
  4. Provide consultation and communication to employees regarding their individual leave of absence situation and the vendor application process.
  5. Communicate and coordinate with corporate legal where necessary on leave of absence issues.
  6. Maintain HRIS and time keeping systems relating to leave of absence tracking, timecards and benefit deductions.
  7. Administer ADA accommodations which include accurately interpreting and applying State and Federal leave laws, including FMLA, USERRA, and ADA.
  8. Participate on corporate Safety Committee and accompanying action items that result.
  9. Maintain and update data to ensure a compliant, accurate system of record including OSHA logs and filings.
  10. Identify inefficiencies within current processes and propose, implement and measure enhancements to streamline business practices and increase productivity and quality.
  11. Prepare and deliver training for HR personnel, supervisors and managers in the areas of FMLA, Disability, ADA and vendor system management.
  12. Provide consultation and guidance to supervisors, managers and employees regarding employee relations issues.
  13. Provide regular reporting regarding leave of absence utilization, trends and benchmarks.


  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field; or equivalent experience and education.
  2. 2+ years’ leave of absence and/or benefits experience in a high demand, high output role with a demonstrated track record of success.
  3. Strong attention to intricate details and ability to think critically about processes and data.
  4. Knowledge of FMLA, ERISA, HIPAA, ADA, Workers Compensation, State Disability Leave and COBRA regulations.
  5. General knowledge of HRIS systems, preferably Oracle.
  6. Strong time management, prioritization and ability to work under tight deadlines.

Lifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.

Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, pushing or pulling and reaching. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
