The Lab Technician reports to a Supervisor, Senior Scientist, or Manager.  The goal of the Lab Technician I is to ensure that process’s required for a production run as it pertains to samples and reagents are done in an organized and expedient manner. The Technician is accountable for following company procedures and working to the best of their ability to ensure quality in all aspects of the job.



Each employee’s specific job responsibilities are uniquely defined by their individual training plan and assigned duties, but are generally defined as follows:

  • Processing of biological samples required for production runs, including locating and verifying sample identification, thawing, mixing, and centrifugation.
  • Transferring samples to the production sample plate in a manner that maintains the integrity of the sample identity, and accurately pipetting the amount of sample required for the run
  • Make necessary dilutions of samples accurately
  • Prepare required reagents for each production run in a timely manner
  • Fill out all documents that pertain to the process
  • Perform manual immunoassays and other manual assays as needed




  • Four year degree in a scientific discipline with experience in a biomedical manufacturing environment or clinical lab preferred.  If non-degreed, at least 3 years of relevant work experience of increasingly complex nature is required.
  • Must be detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, reliable and able to work well independently and in a team situation.
  • Knowledge of GLP & GMP regulations preferred.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
