Overview

The Area Business Director will develop, lead and manage a sales team consisting of Regional Business Managers and Molecular Sales Consultants in the execution of sales strategies that increase profitability to maximize sales objectives. This position works closely with the Senior Vice President of Sales to recruit, train, develop and manage sales associates while generating top line revenue and growth.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to achieve targeted sales objectives.
  2. Identify key prospects and build a strategic sales approach to ongoing new business growth.
  3. Work closely with Senior Vice President of Marketing & Senior Vice President of Sales to assist in the development and implementation of marketing strategies.
  4. Monitor performance against strategic account management, program objectives and directives.
  5. Work in the field to coach and develop the staff in the assigned region to maximize sales and people effectiveness.
  6. Work with staff to develop a full understanding of the strategies and tactics to execute an area plan to achieve the company’s objectives.
  7. Establish sales objectives and budgets by forecasting and assisting in the development of sales quotas for regions and territories; project expected sales volume for existing and new services.
  8. Assess sales associates and activities and evaluate capability to meet/exceed area sales targets.
  9. Evaluate and assist in the realignment of sales territories to maximize account penetration and allocate sales resources with designated territory.
  10. Ensure effective communication to management on major accounts.
  11. Communicate regional activity of competitive products through timely submission of reports as directed.
  12. Establish and oversee regional implementation and monitor adherence to administrative policies and procedures.
  13. Maintain confidentiality regarding all aspects of patients and/or employee information in compliance with HIPAA rules, as well as all proprietary information. Maintain compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, company policies/procedures and accreditation standards.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum of 15 years Diagnostic/Healthcare Sales experience required.
  2. Bachelor degree required; business degree preferred.
  3. Exceptional leadership skills with an ability to build a high performance team and culture.
  4. Experience in leading change and building an engaged team of sales professionals and Regional Business Managers.
  5. Experience in strategic business planning, executional effectiveness and appropriate resource investments.
  6. Experience in leading and working with cross-functional teams to deliver performance results.
  7. Strong strategic thinking capability and business acumen.
  8. A minimum of 50% travel required.
  9. Excellent time management, scheduling, and organizational skills
  10. Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  11. Ability to work effectively under tight timelines and schedules
  12. Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member
  13. Ability to sense the importance or impact of issues and situations and take appropriate actions
  14. Must be flexible, innovative, and self-motivated
  15. Must have the flexibility to work extra hours to meet corporate and departmental goals
  16. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

 

Lifting Requirements – light work or exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.

Physical Requirements – stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating and observing. Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
